October 2016 This mother and son duo are so adorable! We went to East Pennant, NS to capture this session. Their dog Duke is a rescue from the Dominican Republic and is a huge part of their family- so of course, he got in the photos too!

So sorry this is so late guys! I need to try to update this site more often! This is the most recent photo of me and my family <3 I hope you are all happy and healthy! xo  2015 is quickly coming to a close. It's been a wonderful year! I'd like to thank all of my returning clients, and all of my new ones for supporting me through this journey. I couldn't do this without all of your love and support! From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! xoxoxox  Kids are my favorite subject to capture. They are funny, witty, and get bored easily. That's why I think kids do better outside. Having 2 kids of my own makes it a bit easier to photograph your children. Patience is key- and remembering to have fun! Kids will be kids- just take it from my two!   My friend Erin's little guy, Reid, is turning 1 this week, and what better way to celebrate than with a cake smash! I can't believe I have never done a shoot like this before. It was SO fun! Watching his face- looking at his mommy while he smashed his hands into his cake to see if it was okay- was priceless. I can't wait to do more of these sessions! Thanks Erin for allowing me to capture such a huge milestone! xo Time sure is flying by. I feel like I blinked my eyes and 2014 was over! 2014 was a great year for me. As a person and an artist, I feel it was my strongest year. I learned a lot about myself, and worked on some weakness with my business. That being said, there are always improvements to be made! This year, I am going to focus on weddings a little less and families, portraits and babies a little more. I find shooting outside, in natural light is my strength. And I love doing it so much :) I did a lot of family shoots this past year! I am hoping that by this time next year, my studio will be ready. I have a hard time sitting still, and during my slower months it will be nice to have a space to call my own and have clients over for shoots. It will be great when it's freezing outside! Having a studio has been a dream of mine for about 6 years. It will be right on our property in beautiful Ketch Harbour, Nova Scotia. I will try and keep you all updated with studio progress! I hope each and every one of you finds health, happiness and fulfillment in 2015. - Jaime  I had the absolute JOY of shooting Allie & Ian's engagement photos in the beautiful Annapolis Valley ( where I'm from )! It's always so fun to go back home and shoot in such beautiful spots. Ian is an apple farmer, so we did the photos in his apple orchard. We also went walking through the woods, to a place where Ian played as a child- to one of the biggest trees I have ever seen. This place was magnificent! I had SO much fun with you guys- thanks for allowing me to capture these special memories! 
I drove down to my hometown, Kentville to get these shots for this adorable couple! I love shooting in the valley- there are so many spots to pick from! We decided to do these on the walking trail in Kentville. It was a bit chilly, but they put up with me and the weather like troopers! They also brought along the newest addition to their family- Murphy : ) I love this couple and these shots! The next round guys will hopefully have a beach in the background! <3             This beautiful little doll was just 7 days new in these photos! She didn't want to sleep for very long but we managed to get some great shots! Newborn shoots are totally unpredictable and can take anywhere from 1-5 hours! It's so worth it though....just look at her! Cuteness overload!       When I chatted with Mike & Ashley about the type of shoot they wanted, I got really excited when they said they wanted to do the photos on the waterfront. There are so many beautiful spots down there- a lot of texture, colour and contrast! We had a great time wandering, chatting and laughing from the Keith's Brewery to Cheers. The photos came out great and they were ecstatic! Watch for my next blog post of their baby- who is absolutely adorable! We had a blast during this shoot. Well, besides the clouds of black flies at Dingle Tower. But, we moved to Crystal Cresent and it was perfect! As soon as we had our toes in the sand, the wonderful clouds came right over the sun- a photog's dream : ) I can't wait to photograph this baby boy in less than 4 weeks!             I have had a few clients wonder what a full wedding day with me will look like. What's included in the package, what type of candids and detail shots I usually get. I only post my faves from every wedding on my site and Facebook page, so it's not so overwhelming for you guys to look through. So, here is what a wedding day with me looks like! These images were taken in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in 2013. We stayed at an amazing resort called The Majestic Elegance- it was incredible! I was so excited when friends Jeff & Kerri asked me to go south with them and capture their special day! Getting Ready I arrived at their hotel room in the morning, to capture the special moments of them getting ready. This is my favourite part of the whole day!                          The Ceremony The formals usually come next, but as you can see it was too dark to take them on this night. No biggie, we did a beach shoot 2 days later! The Reception The Formals We headed down to the beach around 10am a couple days after the wedding. Just a little side note- YES you do need sunscreen, even though it's early and overcast! ( I paid for that mistake later that night- ouch! ) We had a blast and took our time getting some amazing shots with the most beautiful background ever!

Hi Everyone!
I wanted to let you all know that this will be my last year shooting weddings. I am kind of sad to be honest with you, but I am very excited for the next chapter of my business! Thank you to all of my amazing past clients for supporting me and cheering me on!  I did a really quick session today with Sally & Joey in the valley. It was snowing like crazy, freezing, my gear was getting soaked, these two hate winter, and I fell and smashed my knee on ice. . . luckily I managed to keep my camera safe! Was it worth it? Y-E-S!!!! Look at these two beauties!!! More to come from this awesome photo shoot!
This is going to make me sound old, but about 10 years ago I had the pleasure of working with and getting to know this gorgeous girl who just so happened to have the same name as me. We hit it off right away and we were instantly friends. As the years have gone by, kids, spouses, houses and a few pounds ( on my end! ) later, we have recently re-connected. It's really amazing to me how some people just come into your life and no matter how much time passes or how things change, you can pick up where you left off. Boy, did I ever miss this girl! Jaimi, I am SO thrilled that this has all happened and that I got to photograph your beautiful family at one of my fave places. Your boys ( and Shane! ) are amazingly beautiful!!! xoxoxoxo  Growing up, my little sister's best friend, Gill, was always around and we grew up getting to know one another. I have always considered her another sister. She is one of the most genuine, smart, and loving people I have ever known. When she got engaged, she messaged me and asked me to do her engagement photos AND her wedding photos! I was over the moon excited to share these moments with someone I cherish so much. Now, almost a year to the day she got married, I had the pleasure of taking newborn photos of their first son, Max. I knew her and Jake would be amazing parents, it's just the type of people they are. But seeing her in that role made me teary more than once. Thank you, Gill & Jake for all of your support and love over the last couple years. And happy early 1st anniversary! Love you both :) 
What a crazy, fun filled summer so far! So much has happened. I have met some amazing new people- including this adorable little guy, Liam. He was just 14 days old here! After doing this photo shoot, I am hooked on newborns. Holding a new baby is so amazing and it never gets old for me :) My goal is to have my own studio on my property in the next 2 years. I want to do a lot more newborn/family/portrait work. I will be stepping away from weddings for awhile ( for the most part! ) to focus on a different direction for my business.  I recently did a couple portrait shoots here in Halifax. The first ( see left photo ) was downtown Halifax on the waterfront. There is a wall on the side of a restaurant that I have wanted to do photos infront of for a couple years now. Well, I finally for to try it out! The industrial look of the photos is really neat. I love the chipped paint, the pipes and the rust running down the walls.
This was such a fun day- I want to do more of these soon! Stay tuned for the second portrait  My husband and I were invited to our friend's Jeff & Kerri's wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We stayed at the amazing Majestic Elegance resort, which I would HIGHLY recommend. The place was so huge it was like it's own busy city. The service was fantastic, the room was gorgeous, and we met some amazing people. The resort was over run by Canadians which was awesome! Nothing like seeing dozens of bubba kegs everywhere! This photo is one of the many of the gorgeous Kerri. Oh and you're not so bad yourself, Jeff! ;) Thanks to you both for the invite and the awesome trip and experience! xo |
