My friend Erin's little guy, Reid, is turning 1 this week, and what better way to celebrate than with a cake smash! I can't believe I have never done a shoot like this before. It was SO fun! Watching his face- looking at his mommy while he smashed his hands into his cake to see if it was okay- was priceless. I can't wait to do more of these sessions! Thanks Erin for allowing me to capture such a huge milestone! xo
Time sure is flying by. I feel like I blinked my eyes and 2014 was over!
2014 was a great year for me. As a person and an artist, I feel it was my strongest year. I learned a lot about myself, and worked on some weakness with my business. That being said, there are always improvements to be made! This year, I am going to focus on weddings a little less and families, portraits and babies a little more. I find shooting outside, in natural light is my strength. And I love doing it so much :) I did a lot of family shoots this past year! I am hoping that by this time next year, my studio will be ready. I have a hard time sitting still, and during my slower months it will be nice to have a space to call my own and have clients over for shoots. It will be great when it's freezing outside! Having a studio has been a dream of mine for about 6 years. It will be right on our property in beautiful Ketch Harbour, Nova Scotia. I will try and keep you all updated with studio progress! I hope each and every one of you finds health, happiness and fulfillment in 2015. - Jaime |
